SimienEcoTours is a fully licensed Ethiopian tour operator, with registered address in Ethiopia, Amhara Region, 6200 Gondar, Fasil K/Ketema, Kebele 02, House No. new. Its Commercial Registration No. is MT/AA/2/0037858/2009, Business License No. is MT/AA/03/94/629237/2009, and Tax Identification No. is 0043589138. SimienEcoTours also holds the Competence Certificate from the Ministry of Tourism No. 042 obtained 14.01.2015.

By booking a tour with us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

Booking Confirmation & Terms of Payment

  • All bookings must be formalized in writing, via email, website, instant messengers, social media, or authorized agents.
  • Unless otherwise agreed, a deposit of 30% of the total tour cost is required to confirm your reservation. The booking is considered confirmed only after the deposit has been received and acknowledged by SimienEcoTours.
  • Unless otherwise agreed, the remaining 70% of the total travel price must be paid no later than 30 days prior to the start of the tour.
  • Any bank charges or transfer fees imposed by the client’s bank shall be borne by the client, while fees charged by the beneficiary’s bank shall be covered by SimienEcoTours.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

A cancellation must be reported to SimienEcoTours in written form. The cancellation fees depend on the time of cancellation:

  • More than 21 days before departure: 30% of the travel amount
  • Between 20 and 14 days before departure: 50% of the travel amount
  • Between 13 and 3 days before departure: 80% of the travel amount
  • Less than 3 days before the start and after the start of the trip: 100% of the travel amount

Should the competent authorities advise against travelling to Ethiopia, SimienEcoTours undertakes to make every effort to minimise these cancellation fees.

Special Conditions due to Global Crisis and Political Instability

To encourage clients to book in times of global crisis and uncertainty and to limit the risk to a minimum, we offer our flexible and low-risk booking conditions which apply in the following cases:

  • Booking time: before 31 August 2026
  • Travel time: 01 January 2026 - 01 January 2027
  • Advance payment: 15% only (instead of the usual 30%)

Flexibility when rebooking: up to 30 days before departure you can rebook to a later date free of charge. In this case we will issue you a travel voucher valid until 31.12.2027 in the value of the payments already made. Please note that when rebooking, accommodation must be checked again for availability and other accommodation may have to be booked.
Advantageous political crisis cancellation conditions:

  • More than 21 days before departure: 15% of the travel amount
  • Between 14 and 7 days before departure: 30% of the travel amount
  • Between 7 and 3 days before departure: 60% of the travel amount
  • Less than 3 days before the start and after the start of the trip: 100% of the travel amount
